#Giving Tuesday

December 3, 2019, we’re joining a global day of generosity, #GivingTuesday. It’s a day when you can make a big impact on the Georgia Coalition of Domestic violence (GCADV) and survivors of domestic violence and their families. This #GivingTuesday  support GCADV to help cover the costs of hosting our 21st annual advocacy event, Stop Violence Against Women Day.

GCADV’s Impact

In 2018, 8,613 GCADV training hours impacted 2,065 advocates who served over 10,000 survivors. Advocacy is an important part of our work – it secures the resources required to support domestic violence and sexual assault programs and ensures that survivors of domestic violence and their families are protected.

GCADV has been able to make strides in its advocacy because of the support of our donors, volunteers, and the larger community. We Begins with Me is a call to action, YOU can support our advocacy (and directly take part in advocacy), and together WE can expand the movement towards a Georgia free of domestic violence.

How can you be part of it? Here are a few simple ideas:
  • Consider making a gift on #GivingTuesday, December 3rd 2020 – gagives.org/organization/GCADV
  • Consider volunteering for Stop Violence Against Women Day – gcadv.org/volunteer
  • Print out our #unselfie page here and write down why you support GCADV and share it on social media make sure you tag us @gcadv, and use the hashtags #GivingTuesday #WeBeginsWithMe #Unselfie

What is Stop Violence Against Women Day?

Every year GCADV prepares over 300 supporters for Stop Violence Against Women Day –our supporters gather at the capitol building to advocate on behalf of domestic violence survivors and their families. This is an opportunity for concerned Georgians from across the state to demand attention be paid to victims of domestic violence, ensure services are not impacted through budget cuts, and communicate the need for the state to be involved and vigilant in the quest to end domestic and sexual violence. Support from donors will help make this day possible.

Your Donation Matters

We believe that collaborative work between GCADV, its members, allies, corporate and foundation partners, along with the larger community can bring about a transformation. Collectively we can advocate and create change on behalf of domestic violence survivors and their families.

Your generous gift will help protect survivors of domestic violence and their families.   No matter the size of your donation, you ensure the voices of domestic violence survivors are heard and that their needs are met throughout Georgia.
