Survivor Healing Through Entrepreneurship
Don’t Knock the Hustle champions small businesses as one of the most effective strategies for long-term self-sufficiency and building wealth for domestic violence survivors with marginalized identities. Our program promotes entrepreneurship, provides mini-grants, and offers business planning, job skills, financial literacy, and budget training.
Small Business Mini-Grants
Survivors who have or want to make money from a hobby, project, or business are eligible to apply for a $500 mini-grant from GCADV. They can use these grants for a wide range of business-related expenses, including but not limited to start-up supply/inventory, continuing professional education, business/professional licenses, credit repair, and independent financial counseling.
Eligibility
- Live in the state of Georgia and be 18 years or older
- Have experienced any of the following:
- Domestic violence
- Had a partner or family member control your money
- Been to prison
- Witnessed abuse at home as a child
- Child abuse
- Worked as an advocate for survivors of domestic violence, child abuse, or incarceration
- Have a business idea or currently operating a business
- Have not previously been awarded funds through the Don’t Knock the Hustle Match or Mini-Grant programs
